Description
HP 14-AB Keyboard Replacement, Non-Backlit
Fix a broken or unresponsive keyboard on your HP 14-AB series laptop (Model TPN-C121) with this genuine-fit HP 14-AB Keyboard replacement. A direct drop-in fit built to the original factory specification. The 14-AB is one of HP’s most common budget consumer laptops in Kenya, and after a few years of daily use it’s normal for keycaps to pop off, the space bar to stick, or a coffee spill to take out a whole row of keys — a full keyboard swap is the cleanest way to fix this.
Key Features & Benefits
- Direct Fit – matches the original 14-AB keyboard well exactly
- Brand New – not refurbished
- US Layout – standard QWERTY English keyboard
- Full Key Travel – restores normal typing feel
- Matching Frame Colour – grey-black surround blends with the original 14-AB palm rest
- Correct Ribbon Connector – same pin count and orientation as the factory board for a straightforward plug-in fit
- Consistent Key Feel – keeps the same scissor-switch action as the original, so typing feels familiar right away
Performance & Reliability
Built specifically for the HP 14-AB Keyboard well, this replacement is fit-tested before listing to guarantee a precise match and reliable everyday typing performance.
Every board is checked key-by-key before it ships to catch dead spots, sticking keys, or double-typing, and the frame is inspected for flatness so it seats flush without rocking once installed. Because the 14-AB is a budget chassis with a slightly flexible plastic deck, we pay extra attention to how the keyboard tray sits against the frame to avoid the loose, hollow feel that cheaper aftermarket boards can have.
Compatibility
Fits HP 14-AB series laptops (Model TPN-C121). Confirm your exact model before ordering.
HP sold the 14-AB range under several sub-model numbers (such as 14-ab0xx and 14-ab1xx) that all share the same TPN-C121 board design and keyboard well, so this replacement covers the full series. Check the sticker on the base of your laptop for “TPN-C121” to confirm compatibility, since visually similar HP 14-inch models from other series use a different keyboard mount.
Safety & Quality Standards
Every keyboard is inspected for correct pinout, key travel, and frame fit before shipping, protecting your motherboard connector from damage during installation.
Easy Installation
Power off and unplug the laptop, remove the battery, release the keyboard retaining screws or clips, disconnect the ribbon cable, and fit the new keyboard by reversing the steps. Any laptop repair technician in Kenya can also fit it for you.
Ideal Users & Use Cases
Ideal for home users and students running HP 14-AB laptops who need a fast, affordable fix for missing or unresponsive keys. It’s a practical fix for students typing assignments and doing online research, remote workers who rely on their 14-AB as a primary machine, and parents replacing a keyboard damaged by younger children or an accidental spill. It’s also a sensible choice for anyone who was quoted a high price for a full keyboard-and-labour repair elsewhere and wants a genuine-fit part at a fair price instead.
